From frustration to love: conversational design in humanizing bots

The key: Conversational Design
Conversational Design is a new design language that treats human conversation as the gold standard for all interactions with digital systems. By emulating the subtleties of natural language, it aims to create a seamless and intuitive experience that bridges the gap between humans and bots
Conversational Design structures and organizes the bot’s interaction (whether text or voice-based) with people, ensuring that communication flows naturally and users achieve their goals.
Conversational Design includes:
- Bot Personality: Designed to create a conversation that feels smooth, natural, and consistent, a chatbot’s personality serves as the cornerstone. It shapes the interaction, ensuring a cohesive and human-like experience. This is essential for avoiding a robotic tone and making the conversation more authentic.
- Conversation flow and logic: A chatbot that anticipates your questions and guides you seamlessly. A well-structured flow transforms a simple tool into a natural and enjoyable experience.
- Deep understanding of users: Understanding users’ needs, behaviors, and expectations allows for the design of conversational experiences that truly make a difference.
