Description:

The Data Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, quality, and timely delivery of data across Global Operations. This temporary full-time role requires overlapping PST hours and strong technical ownership to support, monitor, and improve end-to-end data workflows. The ideal candidate brings solid experience working with data pipelines, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to incident resolution.

Responsibilities:

- Monitor and maintain end-to-end data pipelines to guarantee timely and accurate data delivery, using Airflow for orchestration and Snowflake, Python, and SQL for pipeline validation and support.
- Troubleshoot failures in data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes by leveraging Python, SQL, Linux, and version control through Git, collaborating closely with data engineering, EDW, and infrastructure teams.
- Respond to production incidents, triage issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and drive corrective actions through detailed postmortems, using tools such as Airflow, Snowflake, and system-level logs in Linux.
- Create and maintain operational runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides to ensure consistent and efficient issue resolution, documenting all processes using Git as the source of truth.
- Implement and refine data validation practices to safeguard data quality and integrity, applying SQL, Python, and Snowflake checks, and using Tableau where dashboard-based validation is required.

Requirements:

- Proven experience operating and supporting data pipelines in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for debugging, automation, and data validation.
- Hands-on experience working with workflow orchestrators such as Airflow.
- Practical experience with cloud data warehouses, particularly Snowflake.
- Comfortable working in Linux environments and using Git for version control and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform thorough RCA and propose long-term solutions.
- Ability to work full time with overlapping PST hours.
- Excellent documentation habits and attention to operational detail.
