INDUSTRY

Newspaper

The newspaper publishing industry is expected to decline an annualized 7.6% to 80.5 billion dollars in the next five years, including the COVID-19 impact. The surge of online entertainment and news fueled by the rapid adoption of mobile devices and high-speed internet attracted a more significant advertising share, a challenging environment for the printed media

The challenge

Our client had their digital suite hosted with an infrastructure services company. This model was costly and challenging to manage: their primary website availability and scalability suffered whenever they had traffic peaks. Moreover, they didn’t have ownership of traffic data, a critical resource for any digital media company.

Objective

To build a flexible infrastructure based on AWS, giving our client total control over scalability decisions and configuration. This change also enabled them to obtain all the traffic information vital for their business, making them able to manage and improve their content strategies.

SOLUTION

Dev | Data | DevOps

Our team made a thorough diagnosis and identified the key elements to improve the site and business performance. We focused on site availability, reducing downtimes to zero; and performance, reducing loading speeds to a half.
