CLIENT

Interamerican Development Bank

IDB is the largest financial institution in Latin America. It funds economic and social development projects led by private and public entities, helping countries eradicate poverty and provide opportunities for lower-income families through education and healthcare.

The challenge

Although social and economic development trends are favorable throughout the region, Latin America has suffered a significant impact due to COVID-19 sudden widespread and the region’s limited access to healthcare supplies, trained professionals, and other critical resources to provide relief for their communities.

Objective

To develop a map to help local businesses and communities to find goods (e.g., masks, sanitizers, protection) and services (e.g., remote education) that are critical to COVID-19 treatment and relief.

SOLUTION

The client, UI, and development teams had to work in online, parallel work streams. We developed a seamless user experience optimized for light and dark modes, increasing and enhancing filtering capabilities, languages, and drastically reducing loading times to 1/10 of the previous solution.

Patagonian teamed up with IDB to deliver a super scalable solution in record time: the whole project was conceptualized, designed and executed in two weeks.

IDB required a sleek-looking, user-friendly map solution with fast rendering capabilities, targeting all display sizes. It also required the preloading of a massive amount of data.
